The Sassy Sampler (sassy sampler box) ~ Review

Click to see full size image

I recently purchased a Sassy Sampler Box, and very excited that I did!

I visited The Sassy Sampler and selected the small sample box. The order process was pretty simple and smooth. I received my package about a week later.

I am, normally, giddy like a kid at Christmas and rarely make it out of the post office before I am opening packages to see what I got! This time, I knew there were several different items in the package and made my self wait until I got home, which took all of 5 minutes! That was pretty disheartening to my post lady, she enjoys package days as much as I do and enjoys seeing all the great things that come my way. I promised her I would bring the items down to let her see the next day. BTW, she took several of the business cards and coupons to pass out and a few just for herself ,lol. I was okay with that, because I had already gotten the information off of them!

So back to the box, I received 11 sample products and several special offer business cards & coupons. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see that people were putting in samples that were enough to actually sample, to try and several full size items to boot! That is a huge plus to me!

As I mentioned, there were several items in the box. Each box may be different, each company submits the samples and offers of their choice. They may also choose to contribute several different months and different items, so it truly is a surprise, never know what your going to find inside!

Now here is the part you have been waiting for! This is what I received in MY box:

Thank You Cards ~ Ann Rinkenberger ~ Harvest Moon by Hand
Mineral Makeup Samples ~ Jenn Brockman ~ Painted Laydies Mineral Makeup

Along with actual samples I received Special Offer Coupons & Business Cards from:

Brown Bag Party ~ Christina Strickland (adult site)
Naughty and Nice Lingerie ~ Brenda Gonzalez-Kennedy
The Knead To Relax ~ Debbi Anderson
Mommy's Sunshine Designs ~ Christina Strickland
Discovery Toys ~ Cara Retz
Faery Charming ~ Jewelry and Vintage
SoyLicious.com ~ Christina Strickland
B's Purses ~ Amanda Shepherd

I was very impressed with the items that I received. IF I hadn't purchased this box, I may not have known about these great companies and what they have to offer. Most definitely will be visiting these shops/sites!!

So when you check out these fabulous sites, let them know you heard about there from Satisfy Your Senses! ( I don't receive a kick back for it, just so they know where you found them, lol)

If you would like to learn more about how you can get your products into a Sassy Sampler, please {Click Here} and you will be taken to their page with all the information you need, btw...Its FREE, no fee to add to the box!

Now the only thing I can say that is less than Exemplary about the items in the box is the packaging of samples. (which The Sassy Sampler has no control over, it is the business owners/consultants that submit samples responsibility) Everything was packaged great, Im just a sucker for the "cute"! I too like a really nicely dressed package, shows me that the business cares about me as the customer.

I like to throw extra little things in to my customer orders before I deliver or ship out. If I come across great samplers/fillers that are cute or dressed up (and ones Im not hogging to myself, of course) I toss them in to the bags for my customers too. Who doesn't need the added exposure?!

So if you are looking for great products to dress up your samples/items, you can find some by {clicking here}!

So over all I believe you will be pleasantly surprised as well when you receive YOUR Sassy Sampler Box!

I know with this great selection of companies, you are sure to find Something to Satisfy Your Senses!

What type of products do you like to get samples of? What are some things that you dont care for when you get samples from companies? Whats the best thing you got in a sampler before? Cant wait to hear your responses!! Please leave your comments below!

At no time was I paid, or received any kind of kick back to do this review on the sassy sampler. I honestly like to share information on great companies as I come across them.

My blog feeds to my Personal Face Book Page as well as my Business Page, & Twitter. And I comment about my blog on Plurk and various ning groups and social networks. I cant do candle wax product reviews, to be fair, it would be a conflict of interest. I am an affiliate with SoyLicious.com

I Dabble.................

Just recently I have been having the urges to create something. I have made things from handmade soaps, fabric memo board, soap cozys for example, but this time I decided to create jewelry.

I want to share a few of those creations today. I asked around to several jewelry ladies in my Sassy Sisters In Sales group, about the different things, from how to "connect the dots" so to speak. I must say there is a lot of talent in that group! When I asked what went over best for them in their shops, the most common response was "things that come from the heart".

So, I purchased materials that pulled to me, or caught my eye, if you will. Brought them home and put them out in front of me and started putting them together, but not "connecting" them, I wanted to be sure they looked right. This is what I came up with:

"Pink Flower Power"
Flower Power at its best! This really cute bracelet is made up of pink and white mother of pearl beads, silver chain and claw clasp. Measures approx 7 1/2". $7.00 (reg. $10)

"Mystical Flight"
This is a beautiful dark green and black gemstone necklace, enhanced with silver butterflies. Elegance with a touch of fun! It also has a toggle clasp for closure.
Necklace measures approx 20", Pendent measures approx 1 1/2", Earrings measure approx 2" from ear loop down. $20.00 (reg. $25)

"Blue Reflections"
This is a fun chunky necklace. Made of glass, glass w/foil, and metal beads, a toggle clasp for closure. The pendent has a reflective quality to it. Measures approx 22" $15.00 (reg. $20)

"Me To You Treasures" is the name of my hand made business. Although I currently don't have a store set up for online purchases, these pieces are for sale. I have this listed lower than normal price. You can purchase any of these at the discounted price by sending me an email (soysuccess@gmail.com) to tell me which one(s) you want and I will send you a secure email invoice through ProPay. Packages are mailed as soon as payment is submitted. I do not receive your card numbers or information from you submitting the invoice.

Shipping is $1!

Please put Blog Purchase in the subject line so that you receive your item at the discounted price!

Thank you for letting me share with you, a bit of my creativity!
I cant wait to share more with you soon, I wish you the best, have a great day!!!

Do something special for yourself today, Satisfy Your Senses!

Product/Giveaway Review - Cara Retz ~ Discovery Toys

I entered a Labor Day Giveaway that Cara with Discovery Toys was having during the month of September. She holds frequent giveaways at her blog: Play Smart Blog.

This particular Giveaway, I really wanted. I have a 4yr old child and knew this was perfect for her. I was extremely excited that I had won, but my excitement didn't hold a candle to my daughters reaction when she opened the package.

She took a few moments to look the toy over and then with out being told how to do it she was able to figure out that she could take it apart with the screwdriver that was included. She did ask for a little help when putting it back together. But after the first time all we heard was "I can do it myself!" I'm not exaggerating when I tell you, that she took it apart and put it back together 7 times before playing with it as a train. She was very facinated with the idea she could "fix it" (in her words) all on her own. My husband commented "I can just see the gears turning in her head right now" as she was looking the toy over for the first time.

******************
This is the toy that I won from Cara's Giveaway:

Motor Works Train
Take-apart-and-put-together workable 3-D construction set challenges fine motor skills while boosting brainpower. Finished train actually rolls on rotating wheels! Compatible with Motor Works electric screwdriver. Includes easy-to-follow graphic instructions and manual screwdriver. Not intended for children under age 3 due to small parts.
from 4y & up (K, V) e
Learning Pathways: Thinking Skills, Motor Skills, Exploration

Key Benefits:
Utilize small motor skills and thinking abilities to assemble, take apart, and reassemble a real working toy train
Identify colors, vehicle parts and relative positions
Follow graphic directions
Prompt understanding of parts-to-whole
Challenge small motor skills while boosting brainpower
Use simple tools
Engage in imaginary play!

When I purchase from others in direct sales, like myself, I like to get to know more about them and their business. I asked Cara several questions and she was very kind in answering them for me.

About Cara and Discovery Toys:

*How long have you been with DT? - I've been with DT for about 2 1/2 years, but didn't do much with my business until May of this year and I'm just loving it.

*What made you decide to join DT? - I loved the products! I grew up on DT. My mom had some when I was younger and loved playing with them. Then about 6 years ago, I had a party and really enjoyed it. Then another opportunity came up and I decided to join!

*What other companies do you have, if any? - None, but I do work for my Dad's company, Legacy Images (www.legacyimages-pc.com)

*Are you running any specials? - For the month of October, hostess and customers can earn free books and new consultants can earn a free canvas DT tote.

*City and State? - Kokomo, IN

*Hobbies, likes, dislikes? - I enjoy scrapbooking and cross stich, when I have time.

*What is a day in your life like? - depends on the day, usually busy, but fun.

*A memorable moment involving DT (party, customer, experience, etc) - Getting to be an official memeber of my Team Leader's team. I am so excited about this. It has helped me out so much and it's also helped out others in DT get connected to groups, which I'm so glad I could help.

*A bit of advice for other moms (involving DT)? - Give your kids a well rounded play diet. DT is great for this because we involve every area of a child's development. The toys are kid powered, not batterie powered, so your kids get to use their imagination and that is one of the best things. And always play with your children, it's the best investment you can make.

*A bit of advice for other Direct Sales people? - Love what you are doing, be heartfelt, and ask everyone.

*How should others contact you? - You can go to my website at www.playsmartstore.com, send me an email at playsmartstore@gmail.com or give me a call at (765) 461-7989.

You can also keep up to date on all the exciting things going on at Discovery Toys as well as enter giveaways and leave comments just by visiting her Blog : Play Smart Blog (When you stop by tell her I sent ya!)
Thank you Cara for sharing a bit about you an Discovery Toys with us. And Thank you for the Great Giveaway! I will definitely be passing on information about DT to my friends and family! I recommend Discovery Toys to anyone that is looking for Fun & Educational Toys, books, and more for their children. I will absolutely be purchasing DT Toys for my own daughter in the very near future! The holidays are upon us and DT Toys are very affordable!

Kattia's most recent creation ,An Event for the Cure, is a benefit site for breast cancer. It came together quickly for Kattia and seemed to be very inspired by her fellow Sassy Sisters.

Getting Connected ~ Social Networking Tutorial

I have this awesome friend who wrote up this tutorial to help us get connected! I find that I spend a lot of time trying to update ALL my social networks. My friend Andrea Baker wrote this up to help cut back on the amount of time and places we go to update. I love that she also includes how to update your blog to twitter. I have been trying to find other ways to get my blog out there and this was the perfect way to do just that! So if you have a blog that you would like to update automatically to twitter, then be sure to read through the tutorial for the instructions!! I found this extremely helpful and hope that you do as well. Thank you Andrea for doing this to help the rest of us!

Making Connections with Twitter & Facebook

06.19.09

Networking is important. People purchase from who they know and they want to know you. Let’s get some of your social networks connected so your sure to have several of them update with the same information.

For example, they way my social networks work is this: When I post a new blog, post a new photo to flickr, and even when I list a new item in my etsy shop a post is sent to my twitter. That twitter post in turn is sent to FaceBook.
This helps me cut down on time spent trying to be sure that when I blog, post to flickr, or update my etsy shop I don’t have to run around trying to get it posted to twitter and facebook.
How did I do this? I’m assuming you have twitter, facebook, a blog, and anything else with an RSS feed.

To hook up your twitter so that it updates your facebook follow these steps:

Install the twitter application on facebook. Visit the following link application for facebook http://apps.facebook.com/twitter/
go to application;
click allow;
login to twitter with twitter login,
then it will look like a FBized twitter page - at the top hit “allow twitter to update FB…” and should be done.

Test it out. Post a snazzy update on your twitter page and then check your facebook. YAY!!

Okay now on to setting it so that your blog, flickr, any place that has an RSS feed for you will update twitter.

http://twitterfeed.com/ Visit this link and sign up. Be sure to note your password and user name.

Now you might want to have several tabs open with your places you want to list here. Blog, Flickr, Etsy Shop, Artfire Shop, any place that has an RSS feed for you.

Now you want to create a new feed. Follow these steps
You want to authenticate at twitter. This will make sure you have connected correctly.

Give your Feed a name.

You want to go to your blog (or where ever you’re snagging your feed from) and snag your RSS link. Use your feedburner link if you can. Right click and save link target. You want to copy that link. Now you just past that link over at twitter feed.

I have noticed that some blogger templates remove the subscribe to posts link at the bottom of the posts section. If this happens then test out the following with your blogger link.

http://YOURBLOGGERLINK HERE.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

Once this is done you can edit your settings. For mine I add a little prefix {blog} or {flickr} or {etsy} what ever you want to do. You set it how you want it.

When you’re done hit update.

Rinse and Repeat as needed.

Type a post, upload a photo, list something in your etsy shop and wait to check it out on twitter and then facebook.

See any errors in the info above? Contact me and let me know.

(you can contact her by clicking on the "Making connections......" title above, this will go directly to her blog and you can message her from there.)

Sunday Spotlight

Posted by Kathy G on
Sassy Sister, Sassy blog contributor, captivating writer, artist, paper extraordinaire. Congratulations to you Amanda the spotlight is on you. Amanda is the owner of Dawn Correspondence, where she creates beautiful stationery with a large focus on weddings. As mentioned before she contributes to our group blog, and I love to read her posts; I really look forward them. Amanda started designing stationery and invitations 4 years ago, but didn't start doing it as intensely until about a year ago. Amanda enjoys running, cooking, cleaning. Other special interest include spending time with my boys, painting, and Starbucks coffee (expensive taste, literally).

You can also find Amanda on artfire. Check out her, www.dawncorrespondence.blogspot.com

Hopefully you have learned a little more about Amanda, I still have one question....who is Dawn?

These are a few of my favorite items

This a Gorgeous wedding invitation in a square petal that fits perfectly in a 5.75" square envelope. The 3.5" x 5" reply card fits inside the petal.

I love the color of this invitation. Your wedding invitation is the first element used to set the theme for your wedding. To be ushered into your wedding in paradise by this invitation is simply awesome.

Mums the word

I love the combination of purple and red on this invitation. I would love to use this color combination for a new spin of a fall or winter wedding. Nice warm colors.

Words of Wisdom
Often when I host or help plan showers I make a suggestion of a wisdom journal or wisdom notes for the happy couple. Well look what I came across on this wonderful Etsy shop.

Spring Fling

When I saw this invitation I thought of a Spring wedding, the cool colors were light and airy.

Indian Inspired

I thought that this invitation would be great for and Indian or Asian themed wedding. The sunburst actually reminded me of bracelets that dancers put on their feet during any of the ceremonial dances performed.

I hope you have enjoyed Monday Mentions. Look for them again Next Monday!! With so many wonderful things to choose from you are sure to find something to Satisfy Your Senses!

Product Review............Dawn Correspondence (Amanday Day)

Wow! its been a bit since i did my last Product Review!

Well, today I am doing a review on a great product that I can use for personal and business. I attended an online vendor event at the Sassy Affair ~Sassy Sisters In Sales Events website. This is a free event that is done twice a month. If you have a business that you would like to represent (at no cost) this is the place to do it! Anyway, I was there one night and Amanda Day (owner of Dawn Correspondence) was telling us about her company. Now I have had my eye on a particular item that she sales in her shop! So when she offered up a game, I joined in and I WON!!! She gave me a Gift Certificate to her shop, and boy was I one happy camper!
I used the GC for the very items that I have had my eye on for a while. But then i thought, hum..., Im gonna need more. I placed my order for additional Mini Thank You Cards to go with those that i had won. I couldn't decide on which style I wanted, so, I told her to surprise me. And she did!

Look at these awesome Mini Thank You Cards! They are the perfect size for what I was needing!

She sent me a variety of cards including the two pictured above. She provides great customer service. I was very happy with how she made sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. The delivery time was awesome as well!

I was getting ready to deliver a party order when these cards came in. I got calls back from the customers saying they were very surprised to get a thank you card and that "those cards are just wonderful", lol! (a quote from a customer)

If you are in direct sales, these make the perfect Thank You cards! They go great with any size order and your customers will appreciate the effort that you went to, to tell them thank you! These are also great for after the Birthday party, wedding shower, Baby shower, etc.

Amanda has several different Stationary items in her shop that she personally makes. They are of great quality and very professional looking. I do recommend that you drop into her shop to see all that she has to offer. She does custom orders as well as Invitation cards, Stationary Paper etc.
You are sure to find something to satisfy your stationary needs!! These make great holiday gifts as well.
The only negative part of this review is that, I should have ordered more! I cant wait to place my next order.

~ Mary

(This is not a paid review. I purchased these items for business use.)

Introducing Jennifer Stoll

I’d like you to meet a good friend of mine. Jennifer Stoll (lovingly known to many as “Ferfer”)

Jennifer Stoll

She runs the following awesome businesses.

The Stand Up Coach - http://www.thestandupcoach.com

Inspiranza Designs - http://www.InspiranzaDesigns.com/Ferfer

Bodega Chocolates - http://www.mybodegachocolates.com/herecomestruffle & http://tinyurl.com/tasty1 (one is the consultant site, the other is an affiliate site - slight variance in product selection on each, but both from same company)

L’Bri Pure n Natural - http://www.jennifers.lbrionline.com

Jennifers favorite thing about each of her businesses:
The Stand Up Coach - I’m truly blessed to be able to assist others in achieving their goals & dreams. It is so fulfilling when a client’s eyes are opened to their possibilities and they discover their success from within! I love speaking, teaching, engaging, performing…. this is my dream. I get to be myself. I’m in my element with The Stand Up Coach.

Inspiranza Designs - There’s a lot of passion in fashion, whether you’re savvy or not. :) Inspiranza Designs’ line is all .925 sterling silver jewelry - the pieces are absolutely beautiful and are incredibly affordable! I’m amazed at the prices! I love offering affordable solutions for updating wardrobes; and there’s nothing quite like spoiling hostesses with the Hostess Benefits program! I have the privilege of being in the service industry by ‘rescuing’ wardrobes and helping people feel good! How great is THAT?!?

Bodega Chocolates - As a coach, I was searching for great gift ideas to use as incentive rewards and THIS one hit the spot! Bodega Chocolates offers personalized party favors, which I thought were a great idea for Direct Selling leaders to use for place-settings at their leadership retreats! Their chocolates are delicious, and an assortment gift box makes for a great Thank You gift, or Congratulatory gift for a newly promoted consultant! They also offer an impressive selection of wine - and can engrave the wine bottle with a special saying! What a great gift idea for recognition! Can’t you just picture receiving a beautiful bottle of wine engraved especially for you??

L’Bri Pure n Natural - My favorite thing about L’Bri is that it’s all aloe based. I don’t publicize this one much, as I maintain the business solely for my own discount and to take care of a few clients that requested to stay with me. It’s truly a phenomenal product - cleared my acne rosacea like nothing else. However, in my time with the company I’d discovered skincare parties was not my passion. I found it more beneficial to work this business on the side rather than making it my focus. It has worked out very well to maintain it this way.

How long as Jennifer been with her companies:
I have 10+ years Direct Sales experience…. The Stand Up Coach officially launched in May 2008, which was an incredible achievement as I didn’t foresee this dream unfolding for at least another 10 years. God is good! I started with both Inspiranza and Bodega just this year, and my previous experience in Direct Sales is paying off BIG time! (L’Bri = 5 years)

Jennifer’s favorite item from each business & why:
The Stand Up Coach - it’s a toss up between Live Events, personal coaching and teleseminars. I love all 3 equally because I get to engage, inspire, celebrate… it’s truly a unique experience!

Inspiranza Designs - So far my favorite piece is the Geometric Necklace. It’s a simple, timeless, versatile piece that can be dressed up or down. Jennifer is wearing her favorite necklace in the above photos. Isn’t it beautiful!

Bodega Chocolates - oh my, I’m supposed to narrow it down? Tee hee! Truth be told I think my favorite is their English Toffee… it’s so smooth and buttery, and easy on the teeth - not hard at all. I have such a sweet tooth so research for this company was FUN!

L’Bri - Oh boy, the Rejuvenating Facial Peel is incredible! It’s a greaseless, light scented enzyme peel - apply the aloe-based gel and let it sit for a few seconds. When you gently rub in a circular motion, the dead skin cells literally peel from your face! Gross description I know, but way cool! My face is incredibly soft and since there are no harsh abrasives, my skin doesn’t get irritated. I’ve also used it on my hands, elbows, knees, feet… mmm heavenly!
